Who Can Enter
1. To be eligible to participate in this contest, entrants must be U.S. and Michigan residents who are 7 years of age to 14 years of age. You must also reside in the WSMH viewing area.
2. Employees of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Sinclair Television Group, Inc., and WSMH, Inc., and any other company which owns, programs or provides other services to television broadcast stations WSMH (the “Station”) Regent Broadcasting of Flint, Inc., Genesee Valley Center, Perani Arena and Event Center, Sunshine Management, Fox Broadcasting Company, News America, Inc., Fox Interactive Media, Fremantle Media North America, Inc., 19 TV Limited, 19 Merchandising Ltd., CKX, Inc., their parent, subsidiary, affiliated and related entities, and the officers, directors, employees, licensees and assignees of each, their affiliated companies, advertising, any and all local television broadcast and cable stations, local radio and other media companies and promotion agencies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible. The term “immediate families” includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren. Safety Singer Search is for amateurs only. Members of SAG and AFTRA, or individuals represented by a management company or recording company are not eligible.
How to Enter
1. No purchase is necessary to enter; only one entry per contestant.
2. Contestants can register online at www.wsmh.com or at www.askmasterlyle.com. Once they are registered they will receive a contestant audition number. Only the first one hundred (100) Children registered will be able to audition.
3. All contestants must show proof of age and a Parent must sign a consent form before Child is able to audition.
4. Following the registration process, auditions will be held starting at Downtown Davison Farmers market Friday August 28, 2009. Only the first One Hundred (100) Children will get a number and audition for the judges. Ten (10) finalists will be chosen by a panel of judges based on the following criteria: 50% singing ability/voice, 25% stage presence, entertainment ability and crowd participation. 25% style. Finalists will be announced on the main stage September 19, 2009. All finalists must be present when announced. All finalists chosen must be available to perform on September 19, 2009 at the Perani Arena & Event Center. In the event of a tie, additional finalists will be chosen for the finale.
5. On September 19, 2009 one grand prize winner will be selected by a panel of judges based on the criterion set forth in paragraph 4 above.
6. Station reserves the right to disqualify anyone not following procedures or contest rules or for being disruptive or disrespectful to any person or property of above mentioned sponsors.
7. All entries (including video and audio tape) become property of the Safety singer Search and will not be returned. Station is not responsible for late, lost or misdirected entries or for printing errors.
The Prize(s)
1. Ten (10) finalists will receive a prize pack. One grand prize winner will be in a Music Video. The winner is only guaranteed one Music Video. The winner will be judged under the criteria listed in the official Safety Singer Search rules (located at www.askmasterlyle.com,) and will not receive preferential treatment. In the event production of the Music Video is cancelled or postponed, the audition portion of the prizing may be cancelled without substitution or compensation therefore. The value of the viewed Music Video cannot be determined.
2. Winner will be notified in person at the Bringing It Home Community Celebration on September 19, 2009. Before claiming prizes, winner must provide their correct name, address and telephone number to Station at the time of notification. Winner must sign and return a release and affidavit of eligibility, which must be received within ten (10) days of notification. All persons traveling on the trip must be accompanied by at least one adult who is the parent or legal guardian of all of the minors. Winner must show picture identification to claim prizes. Station reserves the right to examine additional identification and may choose to accept or deny awarding the prize based on the identification presented. The winner may also be required to sign additional documents as required by Safety Singer Search producers.
3. If winner does not timely return the affidavit of eligibility, the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner.
4. There will be no substitutions or cash alternatives for prizes except at the sole discretion of Station. The Station has the right to substitute a prize of similar value. No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed.
5. The winner is responsible for paying all local, county, state and federal taxes on prizes based on the estimated retail value of the prizes as set forth in these rules.
6. Only one prize will be awarded per household.
7. Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, and WSMH, Inc. Safe & Sound, are not liable if the provider of any part of the prize fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the prize. The station, sponsors, and prize provider shall not be responsible for winner’s failure to take the trip within the time frame described above, or cancellation of the trip by the winner.
8. Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., and WSMH, Inc. Safe & Sound, are not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of the prize.
9. In claiming your prize, you acknowledge that Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., and WSMH, Inc. Safety Singer Search Safe & Sound, have the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.
Odds of Winning/Miscellaneous
1. Odds of winning depend on the talent of entrants as set forth in the criterion described above.
2. Complete contest rules are available Monday through Friday during normal business hours at G-3463 W. Pierson Road, Flint, Michigan, 48504 and www.wsmh.com., and www.askmasterlyle.com.
3. For a list of prize winners, send a separate, self-addressed, stamped envelope to at G-3463 W. Pierson Road, Flint, Michigan, 48504 by September 30, 2009.
4. This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., WSMH, Inc., Regent Broadcasting of Flint, Inc., Perani Arena and Event Center, have no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder.
5. Station cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes or contest information.
6. Station reserves the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates.
